It was okay, perhaps if I had read it 20 years ago I would have liked it more because there were too many cheap horror flicks made for TV and written by self-publishing authors over the last years that make Herbert's horror effects un-surprising... However, what Herbert's writing has others don't is - good English language and ability to describe things graphically. Too much sex though, for my taste. I do not like when mystery or horror novels waste my time on that.

Can James Herbert write, or what! What a book—humor, adorable hero, suspense, and, best of all, it's all written by a master of words.

Both scary and funny at the same time. I couldn't help but like the unlikeable main character. I hope James Herbert writes more books about the Creed character.

I thought this was fairly good, it had some funny parts and chilly horror bits as well. I liked the plot, about a paparazzi photographer who accidently takes a demon's picture at a funeral. Somewhat cheesy but fun horror story.

Love all of his books. This one definitely didn't disappoint.Following Joe Creed who having always believed demons weren't real, he photographs something that changes his mind forever.Slightly unbelieveable version of modern demons but still for a lighter story than his norm. It still works.

James Herbert never disappoints, and this is an excellent representation of his work. Far surpasses Stephen King because he is so very original.

I'm looking at starting my first online based business which is something like a blog. I found this to be a motivational sort of outline of the blog process. I am a beginner, so I'm not qualified to say whether this is comprehensive or not in terms of the scope of blogging. I had hoped to find a book that explains more technical issues. The section on plug-ins for instance, suggests multiple plug-ins for success but it does not break down what the plug-ins do: in terms of their functions or what different qualities or levels of them might exist out there or why I might even want them. It just tells me to find them online and learn how they work. The trouble I have with some expert written books is that the author knows so much they forget what it's like to know nothing and so unintentionally skip over some important issues that prove to be stumbling blocks for novices As I read through the section on plug-ins though, most information felt like it was written in a foreign language. The thought of having to go online and discover what each of these plug-ins do is overwhelming and then return to the text is discouraging. I think what would help the next edition is to add a glossary of terms at the back of the book. That way I could answer my own questions quickly within the book itself and then I have to go outside of it don't lose the momentum I've gained an understanding and concentration.Overall I found this to be motivational and have complete confidence that the author knows what they are writing about. In this regard it's something like Boot Camp – you get thrown in and you got to swim. That's the attitude. Intentional or not.But if you're OK with that learning style you will probably love this – and if you're not OK with that learning style – you probably need to learn to be -in order to become a successful blogger. At least that's my take away and I am going for it. Of course the author invites you to subscribe to his blog, both to keep up with what's the newest and as he explains throughout the book – to grow his own email list which is valuable. Looks like a win-win to me.

You need to know this book is only 39 pages, 1.5 spaced, larger type. The contents read like a powerpoint presentation. Here is one example on how to make your blog post go viral: "If you want to create a blog post that will likely go viral, you want to make sure it has the following qualities: (the following written with bullet points) "Relevant: Your topic should be relevant; Helpful: Your topic should address and provide a solution to a common problem; Well-Organized: You blog post should be well-organized; Personal and Engaging: Your blog post must feel like a conversation with a good friend; and Detailed: Your blog post must contain detailed information on the topic being addressed". That's all there is on creating a viral post. The rest of the guidance is similar. It is not worth the money. You can find better information with one Google search.

I can't believe I spent $15 on this. There is some useful information here, but it's ironically content poor (short and wordy) and very poorly written with typos all over the place. You'll get a few good tips and recommendations, but mainly it's information you can get for free in a couple hours online. I bought this because it had high ratings, and I'm really shocked that it did.

I have some mixed feelings about this book. The promise was to show someone how to replace their income with blogging. Well, yes and no would be my take on this.While Hirsch did briefly outline the mechanics of set up a website and the blogging tools needed to get started, there was not a lot of conversation about the things to look for and about the tools that are needed or how they might help a blogging website. Knowing in a book like this, it would be an impossible task to look at and review each tool, it would have helped the case to talk about the type of tools in depth, along with a strategy for their use. The when, what, and how of a tool like "x" would be useful and the things to look for when tool shopping.Some additional discussion regarding the keywords review tools would have been helpful also. This topic was covered in a few paragraphs, yet the discussion about it deserved a bigger paint brush. This might lead into a bigger discussion about how to use these tools to research things related to what one might want to blog about. Obviously it would be an extensive conversation to try to show someone how to find what they would want to blog about, but a step through of a blogging topic of any sort as an example would have been awesome.As I am not a blogging expert (yet...I did finish the book and plan to start one soon), I will say that I felt he covered all the steps for getting up and running. There are a few typos but the writing style was conversational and fun at times. For the price, it probably is the best outline style book for getting introduced to the things needed to get your own blog up and running.I will say this, Hirsch did take the time to put some reality into the blogging adventure. He talked about the work needed to make a go of it and the time and effort it takes to do this right.Is it the 'end all guide' to blogging? Well that is yet to be seen in my own results. Is it a good reference tool that can help you get started in the crazy world of blogging? It just might be.Well done overall and certainly worth the price.

If you were adopted, abandoned, neglected, rejected as a child...this is a most remarkable CDs program to listen to. I had it before years ago. I lost one of the CDs and so I recently bought it again. The author gets it. And the stories she tells support how we feel.I find it most comforting (now that I have listened while awake.... to listen to it while I go to sleep. I am an insomniac. This helps. It is VERY soothing. I would recommend it to people who went through it and to therapists who have no firsthand experience being a child who has suffered. God Bless the author. She also has other titles.

I really enjoy Pinkola-Estes work. She has a way of cutting to the heart of matters in a compassionate and enlightening way. I've listened to several of her series, and they are wonderful. I didn't find this one was insightful as others that she's done. Without question it's the best, most honest assessment of adult survivors of childhood abuse. She tells the story of the abused child without sentiment of sympathy. Rather, she shows total empathy and strength. I took a couple of insightful revelations from it, and for those listening to this series was worth it. I highly recommend this work for anyone who has survived child abuse, or is helping a child cope with such in the present.

Clarissa Pinkola Estes is my favorite author, especially "Women Who Runs with the Wolves." I also love her cds & this is one that I identify with the most. She shares that the story of the Lost Dog, which was her favorite growing up.The lost dog goes wandering from house to house, looking for a home. The dog gets chased away, yelled at, and so on. No one wants to dog around, let alone make him a part of the family. The dog is so weary and feels so alone. He then sees a house at the end of the rail road tracks that has a light burning within. He says to himself in despair This is the last house that I will try. He scratches the door, and it opens. The house is filled with children that were having a birthday party, and they squeal in delight at the presence of the dog--thinking that he was a birthday present.Oh, to be received as if you were a present instead of a scourge or a nuisance!Since all elements of a story/myth are within, and parts, of ourselves, it comes back to becoming your own Mother. Your own welcoming party. Your own celebration. Your own guide, comforter, and nurturer.If you have an internal wounded, abandoned, orphaned, or neglected child, realize that you can "grow your own Mother" inside. A partially burned piece of wood always has an ember inside, waiting for a wind to blow on it and coax it to become a flame once again. There is a part of you that can Mother--the child within. When we turn to our inner child, nurturing it and loving it, we heal the child, the inner Mother, and the other parts of ourselves, as well. One of the words for God in the Old Testament is El Shaddai, and in the Hebrew, this is a feminine word that literally means "Many-breasted One". There is a Mother heart of God, not matter which way you choose to connect with this Source or Divinity--or what you choose to call it. Something beyond us that is loving, nurturing, caring, and safe.

I had to put this one down a couple of times. Not because I disagreed with it but because it was so profound and I needed to fully comprehend how important the points where. Be prepared to have your spiritual life change as a result of reading this book. I can't recommend it enough.

This book is intense. If you have never read anything on Purgatory then please don't start with this book. This book is geared more for Catholics who are already praying for the poor souls in Purgatory. If you are looking for a book that deals more with how scripture supports the existence of Purgatory, I might suggest you read the "Biblical Basis for Purgatory" by John Salza. If you have never read anything about Purgatory and have lots of questions about it, I suggest reading "Get Us Out of Here" by Nicky Eltz and Maria Simma. After you have read those books or other ones then read this one.This book wakes you up about the pains of Purgatory. The author has compiled numerous I witness accounts from the lives of the holy saints and other creditable sources to show the details, the location, the amount of time one can spend there, the terrible pains, the physical evidence that poor souls have left behind, what we can do to avoid it, and how we can provide relief to the poor souls in Purgatory. These souls know they are saved and choose to be purified there rather than be blemished in the presence of God. (See Hebrews 12:1-29 and Rev 21:27)I strongly recommend reading this book as it will make your prayers and devotion to our Lord Jesus more fervent. God Bless!

Covers the teachings on Purgatory as well as how greatly we benefit from helping souls there. We have no idea how much souls suffer there, and they are often quickly forgotten at death. The book explains how to help them, with story after story on how the saints have done so. Christianity is a team sport, and we work together, we on earth praying for them and they in Purgatory praying for us. The stories are magnificent and very inspiring. Couldn’t put the book down. On my short list of spiritual reading favorites. Biblical quotes throughout.

This is a very comprehensive look at the apparitions of various Saints whose visions of Purgatory are explained, and the book also provides insights as to where Purgatory is and the various levels of Purgatory. There is also much reading about devotions on behalf of the Holy Souls. The author also details the ways we can employ to lessen our Purgatory or avoid it completely, all of which are within our reach. I would recommend this book.

This is the best book on Purgatory that I have ever read. I bought this book in the early 1970's and then passed it on to someone else because it was so good. Years later, in the early 2000's I bought another copy to read it again. Now, I have purchased an ebook copy. It is so enlightening! If I could, I would give it a 10-Star rating.

Everyone should read this. We all have the tendency to make light of the justice of God and the value of little things

Francis X. Schoupe, S.J., a renowned French Jesuit expounds eloquently on the necessity of Purgatory. Please study this book carefully because it stresses an important aspect of the afterlife that is often overlooked. This book reads wonderfully. It has helped underscore my staunch faith in the Catholic Church of which I am a proud member.
